Neopaganism: the return of gods

Today Neopaganism in Italy is growing with more awareness. The most popular religious movement is Wicca, that was developed in England in the mid-20th century. Wiccans celebrate several seasonal festivals observing the wheel of the year, commonly known as Sabbats. They use to practice, alone or in coven, in the woods and feeling the contact of the nature. In Rome each year, during the autumn equinox, the pagans from all over the country use to meet each other to celebrate the Pagan Pride, a whole day dedicated to workshops and rituals. Also shamans and druids join to the Italian pagans, brothers and sisters, without any kind of hierarchy and with a deep respect for the mother nature and for the otherness.

The pictures were taken in Naples, Rome, Milan.
